This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This place, Third Pond, it simply has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain, and if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a tremendous choice. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. You can never get enough of the great skiing       at Whiteface Mountain, and the Dividing Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best. From Third Pond you acquire a pleasant panorama of Moose Mountain, and there's whitewater on Boreas River - Upper for all you adrenaline junkies. During the months of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Third Pond. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Third Pond.                  This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of John's Brook. Adirondak Loj is a glorious local campground, and after a long day outdoors Courtyard Lake Placid is a great place to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is great! Why not take a refreshing hike along the Van Hoevenberg Trail, and why not camp at Whispering Pines Campground since you're here at Third Pond. This lake is so wonderful. LeClaire Brook is near Third Pond and is always a joy to go to. Lakes are great; Upper Ausable Lake is a lake that's close to Third Pond.
