So many exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Gore Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby, and Bend of the River Golf Club is a golf course close by. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Fourth Lake is a great lake close to Third Lake; dry       warm beds await you at Lake View Hotel and Conference Center. After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Suites Lake George is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and you can hit the slopes at West Mountain in the vicinity. All through the summer at Third Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at                  Third Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Bullhead Pond Mountain can be seen from Third Lake, and if you came to camp Down Hill Campground is a fine place to do that. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You're sure to run into some great folks from Glens Falls here, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sacandaga River. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll adore Third Lake. Why not stop by close by Stewart Brook since you're here at Third Lake, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Schroon River. This lake is so wonderful. There are other locations here than Third Lake, for example Second Lake.
