This place, Third Lake, it just has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Stay the night at Nicks Lake Campgrounds; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Third Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Singing waters Campground is a good location for that, and you can hit the slopes at McCauley Mountain around here. Life's too       short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Woods Valley; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Black River - South Branch. At Third Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while Third Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. This                  lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Bisby Lakes next to Third Lake, it's a charming lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Black River. Third Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Third Lake is a pretty wet place typically with a good deal of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. The Stone Dam Trail is a perfect hiking trail near Third Lake. So much entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just astonishing. Deer Bay is close to Third Lake and is a pleasant site to check out, and nearby you discover the Forty Mountain Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
