It's always fun to stop by Lake Temalo. There are other sites here than Lake Temalo, for example Hidden Lake, and swamps are exciting places and Peter Scott Swamp near Lake Temalo is no exception. If you come at the right time of year, Oswego River offers some wonderful whitewater, and Caughdenoy Creek Country Club is a nice golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful.

| | the 70's, and the night is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 60's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Temalo are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River, and everyone close by loves skiing at Song Mountain. Camping at Pleasant Lake RV Park is always a pleasant experience; there are plenty of folks from Syracuse here at Lake Temalo.

We've been going to Selkirk for several years. A week in the cabins (with an adjoining tent site) makes for a comfortable week. The beach is small but adequate. The hiking/biking trails are good. The sunsets are spectacular. The staff is gracious and accomodating. The Rec Hall makes a real effort to run activities every day - adults are welcome as well as children. Nearby sites and restaurants are a nice distraction, but sitting around camp or on the beach with a good book, hiking in the morning, or biking in the evening seem to take up most of the days.Enjoy!... |
