Taylor Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Taghkanic is a nice local campground; during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Hudson for sure. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Taylor Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Long Pond Lake Family Campgrounds is a good site for that; a great nearby hotel is Cottonwood Motel. A short visit to Cold Spring is always worthwhile.

A common amount of precipitation falls here at Taylor Pond; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. Don't leave Taylor Pond without first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail;
whitewater paddling is perfect on Roeliff Jansen Kill River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Taylor Pond. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place
gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Taylor Pond are in the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Catamount is one of those things you just must do, and if you need a spot to stay Jenny's Bar B Q Restaurant is a brilliant choice.
