The Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Tarrytown Reservoir, and in the neighborhood of Tarrytown Reservoir you come across a golf course called Trump National Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous close by hotel is Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center; a range like the Pocantico Hills is always pretty. trail, and camping is available at Camp Echo Lake. You can run the rapids of Popolopen Creek close to Tarrytown Reservoir, and if you want a little side spree, try Sleepy Hollow. On a fine day at Tarrytown Reservoir you can take
a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; needless to say, this is a great vicinity for folks who like lakes, Fergusons Lake is a lake close by. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Tarrytown Reservoir. Gory
Brook is near Tarrytown Reservoir and is always a diversion to stop by, and on a lovely day you acquire a great sight of Beaver Hill from Tarrytown Reservoir. Tarrytown Reservoir frequently gets lots of rain; July is the month
that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Tarrytown Reservoir with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Tarrytown Reservoir are in the 10's.

 | 18 miles away ...estnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt... |
