Tappan Zee is good enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Echo Lake is a good local campground, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Woodtown Trail. Tappan Zee is a relatively wet place generally with a large amount of rain; through July this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.       If you're visiting Tappan Zee from New York-Newark-Edison, you won't be the only one; while you're here you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. If you need a site to stay Doubletree Hotel Tarrytown is a perfect choice. For you golfers we recommend close by Trump National Golf Club; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. If you adore the outdoors, you'll adore Tappan Zee. There's so                  much to do here at Tappan Zee that you need to camp here for a while, Trailmark Outdoor Adventures is a great place for that; some of the water close by flows, like Pocantico River. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Rockland Lake, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Sterling Forest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Tappan Zee, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Tappan Zee are in the 10's. This is a magnificent neighborhood for people who like lakes.
