    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Taconic Pond. Don't leave Taconic Pond without first going for a hike along the Southeast Hollow Trail, and there's magnificent hiking along the Taconic Crest Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Taconic Pond. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Taconic Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime  
   are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Taconic Pond is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Taconic Pond truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. The Williams Trail offers hiking at its best, and there's whitewater on Green River for all you thrill seekers. There's so much to do here at Taconic Pond that
 
               you need to camp here for a while, Broken Wheel Campground is a perfect location for that, and the skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club is great.
After a long day outdoors Sedgwick Inn is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Hoosic River. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Cranberry Pond is one of those close by; if you need a place to stay Bennington Battlefield Motel is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. Taconic Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Aqua Vista Valley Campgrounds is a fine local campground; a day on the slopes of Jiminy Peak is just what you need.
