Ten Mile River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; you can go for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. At Swift Pond all through the summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Swift Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Man, is there loads of       fun things to do near Swift Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Sharon Motor Lodge is a great site to get some rest, and the skiing at Thunder Ridge is good. This lake is so wonderful. Near Swift Pond you locate a golf course called Silo Ridge Country Club, and since you're here, you could also check out beautiful Crane Pond. Butts Hollow Brook is right next door to Swift Pond and is always a pleasure to take a look at, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Mohawk                  Mountain. Depression Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and if you came to camp Taconic State Park Rudd Pond is a tremendous place to do that. If you need a site to stay Old Drovers Inn is a pleasant choice, and there's wonderful hiking along the Indian Trail. From a rain point of view Swift Pond is a relatively typical location; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Housatonic River, and from Swift Pond you acquire a perfect sight of Fox Hill.
