A visit to Lake Sunset is always a good idea. There's tremendous hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Rondout Creek. Lake Sunset is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Newburgh/New York City N KOA is a tremendous local campground; get dripping wet paddling on Wallkill River.
You can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Sterling
Forest, and don't leave Lake Sunset without first going for a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail. There are wonderful sites to look at along the Comfort Trail, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - New Paltz, Ny is a good
location to spend a night or two. Lake Sunset frequently gets a lot of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February.
