In New York there are many beautiful lakes, Sunset Lake is one of them. Take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and dry warm beds await you at The Copper Penny Inn. Having a splendid time at Sunset Lake is painless. If the weather is delightful, you obtain a good sight of Spy Hill from Sunset Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Wappinger Creek offers some pleasant whitewater. | | Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Sunset Lake, and you can stay the night at Sylvan Lake Beach Park. Sunset Lake gets a lot of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Esopus Creek. There's so much to do here at Sunset Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Interlake Farm Campground is a delightful spot | |

in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Sunset Lake drop into the 10's. This is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes. Vassar Lake is a lake around here, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Poughkeepsie is a splendid place to spend a night or two.

Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to Austin rd elem.my age now is... |
