Sunset Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Sunset Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. | | yourself into a kayak and hit Wappinger Creek. Sunset Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
If you come at the right time of year, Esopus Creek offers some tremendous whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Days Inn Poughkeepsie is a great choice, unsurprisingly you could also visit Wappinger Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Going | |

for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; Sunset Lake is not the only place nearby, Cobalt Lake is a nearby lake.
A great sight of gorgeous Spy Hill is
available from Sunset Lake; if you came to camp Sylvan Lake Beach Park is a good site to do that. If you're a golfer then a nice nearby course is Mc Cann Memorial Golf Course, and a nice close by hotel is The Copper Penny Inn.
