If you are in this part of New York make sure to pay a visit to Stonystep Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A nice location to camp here at Stonystep Pond is Hoss's Country Campground; a delightful vista of beautiful Bad Luck Mountain is available. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Rock Pond near Stonystep Pond, it's a picturesque lake. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. A wonderful

Lake Francis. After a long day outdoors Best Western Mountain Lake Inn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; hiking is a popular thing to do around Stonystep Pond; Sucker Brook Trail is a nice local trail. All through the
warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Stonystep Pond. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Stonystep
Pond are in the 0's. So much exciting stuff close to Stonystep Pond, clearly astonishing. Stonystep Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Cedar Pond Campground is a glorious local campground; why not go to a swamp

 | 13 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
