The beauty of Stone Dam Lake attracts many people from all around. Stay the night at Trails End, and don't leave Stone Dam Lake without first paying a visit to Mulchy Spring. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. Swamps don’t sound that great but Quagmire Swamp next to Stone Dam Lake is relatively great, and going for a hike on the Twin Lakes Trail is always a pleasant adventure. There's some flowing water close by, Big Brook is a stream you can stop by while you're here, and everyone nearby loves skiing at McCauley Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are splendid; Chub Pond is a lake that's right next door to Stone Dam Lake, and get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Woodhull Creek. Stone Dam Lake called the Forty Mountain Trail. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Buck Pond, and at Stone Dam Lake you can make out Stone Dam Mountain. All through the warmest time of the
year highs here at Stone Dam Lake reach the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Stone Dam Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stone Dam
Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Cold Brook Campsites is a great location to camp nearby; the slopes of Woods Valley are so inviting noone can resist. Much rain falls at Stone Dam Lake; throughout August
this area sees the most rain while February is generally the driest month. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Stone Dam Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Black River; the Stone Dam Trail is a nice hiking trail close by.
