This lake is so wonderful. People from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown love to come to Still Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Popolopen Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in close proximity to Still Lake. At Still Lake you       can make out Bald Mountain, and if you came to camp Camp Echo Lake is a fine site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Croton Dam while you're here at Still Lake; Comfort Inn & Suites is a good site to get some rest. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Trump National Golf Club, and don't leave Still Lake without first going for a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Still Lake that you need                  to camp here for a while, Camp Discovery is a perfect place for that, and there's splendid hiking along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. This is a great region for folks who like lakes. Echo Lake is a lake in the neighborhood, and if you need a location to stay Edith Macy Conference Center is a wonderful choice. Nearby lakes? Sure, Shadow Lake is near Still Lake. Still Lake is a relatively wet place typically with a large amount of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Through the months of summer highs here at Still Lake get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's.
