For the period of the summer at Sterling Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sterling Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Pequannock       River for all you adrenaline people, and don't leave Sterling Lake without first going for a hike along the Kakiat Trail. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Sterling Lake. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Sterling Lake. A glorious swamp close to Sterling Lake is McKeags Meadow; camping at Motor Sports Marina and Campground is always a tremendous experience. Whitewater paddling                  is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ramapo River, and there are other places here than Sterling Lake, for example Sandy Beach Lake. The amount of rainfall that falls at Sterling Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during May; the driest month is February. A delightful place to camp here at Sterling Lake is Camp wabenaki; there are brilliant sites to look at along the Cannonball Trail. After a long day outdoors Sheraton Mahwah Hotel is a great place to spend a night or two; great skiing awaits you at Mt. Peter. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Sterling Forest, and golf can be played at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge.
