Esopus Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and golf can be played at Red Hook Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. All through the warmest time of the year here at Spring Lakes, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Spring Lakes temperatures plunge to the       0's. Camp Eagle Hill is a good local campground; dry warm beds await you at Saugerties Howard Johnson Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Brook N Wood Family Campground is a delightful campground nearby; you'll almost certainly meet some people from Hudson here. Twin Lakes is a glorious lake right next door to Spring Lakes, and whitewater paddling is great on Roeliff Jansen Kill River. Spring Lakes gets a common amount of yearly rain; all through the month                  of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. There are other locations here than Spring Lakes, for example Warackamac Lake, and hey, Gotta ski right? Catamount is a good place to do that. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Spring Lakes.
