There's whitewater on Neversink River - East Branch for all you adrenaline people, and do visit East Pond, it's a pretty lake. Summertime at South Wind Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at South Wind Lake sink into       the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Sandburg Creek; if you need a place to stay The Lodge at Rock Hill is a magnificent choice. South Wind Lake is a quite wet place usually with a large amount of rain; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February. Stay the night at Birchwood Acres Camping Resort, and the Seager West Branch Trail offers hiking at its best.                  South Wind Lake is right by the Vernooy Falls Trail; Lochmor Golf Course is a good golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Peenpack Trail is great fun, and since you're here, you could also visit pretty Wohl Lake. This location is great, just explore all the cool stuff to do next to South Wind Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Belleayre, and a good close by hotel is Super 8 Monticello NY.
