Yeah, come here to South Pond for a fine time. A nice nearby hotel is Best Western Mill River Manor, and Middle Bay Country Club is a golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the summer highs here at South Pond get into the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at South Pond are in the 20's. If       time allows, Gateway National Recreation Area is a national park worth checking out, and Rockville Centre Inn is a good location to get some rest. Camp Mesorah is a perfect campground nearby, and Lido Beach is quite nearby if you're in a beach type of mood. The friendly folks of New York-Newark-Edison like to hang out close by, and on a great day it's a nice idea to spend the day at Long Beach. If you came for an overnight stay Brookwood Camps is a splendid                  place to camp, and if you get bored of South Pond you could also check out nearby Schodack Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water close by, Mill River is a stream you can check out during your stay, and South Pond is not the only place nearby, Smith Pond is a nearby lake.
