So much enjoyable stuff to do here at South Pond, too splendid to be true. Camping is available at OLD Forge Camping Resort, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Oswegatchie River - East Branch. For you golfers we recommend close by Thendara Golf Club, and hiking is a popular thing to do around South Pond; Big Deer Pond Trail is a splendid local trail. And that's       not all the things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Moose River - South Branch; Twitchell Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. Summertime highs at South Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's while South Pond overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. All the water                  falling down from the sky makes South Pond a wet spot; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to stumble upon some smiling people from Ogdensburg-Massena here, and why not camp at Nicks Lake Campgrounds while you're here at South Pond. South Pond is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains. Browns Rock is an exciting thing to catch a sight of if you're here at South Pond; since you're here, you could also go to lovely Little Birch Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave South Pond without first going for a hike along the Norridge Trail, and the snow is nice at McCauley Mountain. Just can't get enough of the Adirondack Mountains. If you're here at South Pond, do take a spree to North Bay, and here at South Pond you can see Twitchell Mountain.
