The high level of rainfall makes South Pond a relatively wet site; during August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to South Pond. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and during the dark       hours in the wintertime at South Pond temperatures fall to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. At South Pond you can catch a glimpse of Peaked Mountain; a great place to camp here at South Pond is Hoss's Country Campground. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Drift down the rapids of Cedar River in a kayak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. You think that's                  enough? Just getting warmed up. East Inlet Brook flows through this vicinity, and do take a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail. South Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a nice time. You're almost certainly keen on lakes, Mud Pond is one of those nearby. This is a wonderful region for people who like lakes.
