| | August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. South Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. East Inlet Brook is a stream that you may run into while you're here, and the Northville Lake Placid Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Stay the night at Long Lake Camp, and paddling on Cedar River is so much fun. You can distinguish Peaked Mountain | |

from South Pond; Mud Pond is a delightful lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Raquette River, and there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Sucker Brook Trail. So much entertaining stuff
to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too delightful to be true. There's so much to do here at South Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Hoss's Country Campground is a magnificent spot for that, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Chub Pond.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
Little Simon Pond
 | 14 miles away Great place for ice fishing. One of the best tournaments around.... |
Raquette Lake
 | 14 miles away It's just Raquette Lake, NOT Raquette Lake Reservoir! And Fort Stanwix is over 80 miles away - why not visit the Adirondack Museum just a 12 mile drive to Blue Mountain Lake?... |
