This lake is so wonderful. East Inlet Brook is a perfect local stream, and in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cedar River. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. South Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. You absolutely must have a thing about South Pond.       Looking for something near South Pond? Chub Pond is close by; dry warm beds await you at THE HOTEL SARANAC. Whispering woods is a delightful campground here, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Sucker Brook Trail. South Pond is a perfect location to camp, Tioga Point State Campground is a perfect location, and going for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
