Why not take a refreshing hike along the Taconic Crest Trail, and why not camp at Aqua Vista Valley Campgrounds if you're here at South Long Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around South Long Pond; Southeast Hollow Trail is a pleasant local trail; Jiminy Peak is a great place to get some rest. So much amusing stuff near South Long Pond, simply incredible. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but       if it's for you then we recommend Poesten Kill River, and if you need a site to stay Jericho Valley Inn is a tremendous choice. The warmest time of the year at South Long Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while South Long Pond night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. South Long Pond is not the only spot nearby,                  Cranberry Pond is a nearby lake. Head up to Mount Greylock Ski Club and strap some skis to your feet; a good spot to camp here at South Long Pond is Broken Wheel Campground. This lake is so wonderful. South Long Pond is right by the Williams Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Jiminy Peak.
