Grape Hollow is in close proximity to South Lake and is a great site, and if you've had enough of South Lake, Ballard Lake is close by. For the period of the months of summer here at South Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for South       Lake tend to be in the 10's. South Lake is a good place of normal rainfall; throughout May this area sees the most rain while February is frequently the driest month. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool things the area in close proximity to South Lake has to offer. South Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a tremendous local campground, and the vista of beautiful Big Buck Mountain is                  brilliant. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Thunder Ridge, and there are plenty of people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here at South Lake. Camping at Sylvan Lake Beach Park is always a nice experience, and there's whitewater on Tenmile for all you adrenaline junkies. Holiday Inn Express FISHKILL is a great place to get some rest, and you can run the rapids of Wappinger Creek. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and if you're a golfer then a magnificent nearby course is Branton Woods Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful.
