     But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Glen Lake Trail; you're sure to bump into some wonderful people from Glens Falls here. From a rainfall point of view Smith Pond is a relatively typical place; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in
 
   a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. Why not camp at Lake Lauderdale Campgrounds if you're here at Smith Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Manchester View Fine Lodging. Go for a hike on the Bomoseen Hiking Loop; a good spot for whitewater paddling is Mettawee River.
You completely must fancy Smith Pond. Not far from Smith Pond, you'll stumble on Green Pond which is a stunning lake, and Arcady At The Sunderland Lodge is a brilliant spot to get some rest.
 
               At Smith Pond throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Smith Pond sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Grimes Hill is clearly visible from Smith Pond, and going for a hike on the Healing Springs Nature Trail is always a perfect adventure.
Battenkill River is a great whitewater spot near Smith Pond, and a day on the slopes of Willard Mountain is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Smith Pond, for example Lily Pond, and a tremendous location to camp here at Smith Pond is Camp Catherine Capers.
