Smith Pond is always a pleasure to visit. You're in all probability into lakes, Acker Pond is one of those close by, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Knights Inn Castleton on Hudson/Schodack. During the warmest time of the year at Smith Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Smith Pond.

Kinderhook Creek. Lakes are good; Merwin Lake is a lake that's right next door to Smith Pond, and what would winter be without some skiing at Catamount.
This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck
because Winding Brook Country Club is in the vicinity; Smith Pond is right by the Indian Trail. The Northrop Trail offers hiking at its best, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Hudson for sure. This lake is so wonderful.
After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and do take a hike on the Elbow Trail.
The annual rainfall here at Smith Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is January.
