If you came to camp A-ok Camping and Recreation is a great spot to do that; Snow Ridge is a fine local ski area. Fort Stanwix National Monument is a very pleasant spot to visit near Smith Lake; there's whitewater on Fish Creek - East Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. Paul Revere Lodge is a splendid location to get some rest, and get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of       Mohawk River. For the period of the summertime at Smith Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's while Smith Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. The high level of rain makes Smith Lake a pretty wet place; most of the rain falls all through November; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.                  This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Smith Lake that you need to camp here for a while, CMA Campground is a great spot for that, and the slopes of Woods Valley are so inviting nobody can resist. Not far from Smith Lake, you'll stumble on Bloodsucker Lake which is a gorgeous lake, and after a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Rome is a pleasant site to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Smith Lake is peerless! Pigeon Brook is a stream that you may stumble upon while here.
