    Smarts Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. At Smarts Pond you always meet someone from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, and why not camp at Dingman's Campgrounds while you're here at Smarts Pond. The snow is splendid at Hickory Ski Center; if you need a site to stay Residence Inn by Marriott Albany East Greenbush Tech Valley is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something right next door to Smarts Pond? Burdens  
   Pond is nearby, and Deer Run Camp Grounds is a tremendous local campground.
From a rain point of view Smarts Pond is a rather normal location; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Poesten Kill River, and a quick journey to Poesten Kill is without doubt a good idea. And if that's not sufficient,
 
               there's plenty more to do right next door to Smarts Pond. Nearby lakes? Sure, Ida Lake is right next door to Smarts Pond, and Fairfield Inn By Marriott East Greenbush is a pleasant place to get some rest.
Summertime at Smarts Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Smarts Pond.

this is a gREAt campground for people with children. They make you feel great about camping. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I would recomended this campground 110 percent!!!!...alps is the most awesome place to camp.they offer everything and anything there. we saw what they did at the 4th of july and the kids loved it. I advice any parents that have have kids to take them there........they WON'T be disapointed...
