All the outdoors exciting things in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Visit Casey Brook since you're here at Silver Lake; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Whiteface Mountain. There are perfect spots to discover along the Schwartz Trail; people from Plattsburgh love to come here. Silver Lake is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; August is when       you get the most rain here while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Saranac River is so much fun, and dry warm beds await you at Lake Placid Club Lodge. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. From Silver Lake you get a fine view of Cranberry Mountain, and going for a hike on the Silver Lake Mountain Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Summertime highs at Silver Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's,                  and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Silver Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Saranac River in a kayak; Silver Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, North Pole Campground is a good local campground. Go for a hike on the McKenzie Pond Trail, and after a long day outdoors Mirror Lake Inn is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains.
