This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Gore Mountain is a perfect local ski area, and going for a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Shiras Pond. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Sacandaga River - East Branch, and after a long day outdoors Algonquin Motel is a glorious       place to spend a night or two. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too glorious to be true. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Cotter Swamp is right close by, and you're sure to come across some fine people from Gloversville here. Man, is there a load of amusing things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Georgia Brook, and a good site to camp here at                  Shiras Pond is Rainbows End. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Summertime highs at Shiras Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the night is quite chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Shiras Pond. Why not camp at Northhampton Beach Recreation if you're here at Shiras Pond, and Georgia Mountain is a peak you can see from Shiras Pond. The yearly precipitation here at Shiras Pond is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
