There's so much to do here at Shew Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Birch Haven is a brilliant place for that, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Amsterdam is a wonderful location to spend a night or two. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Shew Pond ordinarily gets much precipitation; during September this area sees the most rain       while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. From Shew Pond you acquire a great vista of Bald Bluff; playing golf is lots of fun at Sacandaga Golf Club. While you're here at Shew Pond, you could also visit striking Cooks Reservoir, and Shew Pond is not far at all from Gloversville. Summer at Shew Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. During the winter                  this place gets highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Shew Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's.
