Sure, Round Pond is in the neighborhood of Shaw Pond; after a long day outdoors Sharon Motor Lodge is a fine location to spend a night or two. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Skiing at Catamount is one of those things you just have to do; Ten Mile River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps can be such attention-grabbing sites, pop by Tamarack Swamp since you're here at Shaw Pond; you'll never forgive yourself       if you don’t go skiing at Thunder Ridge if you're here. Long Pond Lake Family Campgrounds is a nice local campground; if you need a place to stay Le Chambord is a good choice. You're probably interested in lakes, Ryder Pond is one of those close by, and close by you stumble on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roeliff                  Jansen Kill River, and if you came for an overnight stay Ramapo Anchorage Camp is a good spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Northrop Trail is always a pleasant adventure. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Shaw Pond get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad colder of course, generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Shaw Pond are in the 10's.
