If you are in Columbia county it's always a good idea to stop by Shaver Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot to camp here at Shaver Pond is Oleana Family Camp Grounds, and you're perhaps into lakes, Snyder Pond is one of those nearby. Go for a hike on the Indian Trail; you can run the rapids of Roeliff Jansen Kill River. The slopes of Catamount are so inviting noone can resist, and since you're here you can play some golf at Undermountain Golf Course.

Summertime at Shaver Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and after the
sun is down during the winter temperatures at Shaver Pond dip into the 10's. Center Hill is clearly visible from Shaver Pond, and Great Barrington Days Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. What would winter be without some skiing
at Ski Butternut, and Noster Kill is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting.
This lake is so wonderful. At Shaver Pond you always meet someone from Hudson; if you've had enough of Shaver Pond, Robinson Pond is
close by. Camping at Camp Waubeeka is always a great experience; if you need a place to stay Sharon Motor Lodge is a wonderful choice.
