Honness Mountain is clearly visible from Sharp Reservation, and if you need a spot to stay Oak Hospitality is a wonderful choice. At Sharp Reservation throughout the summer months highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Sharp Reservation temperatures sink to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Thunder       Ridge has good slopes and a friendly staff; Wiccopee Pass is a wonderful place to go to. You're sure to encounter some nice people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here. Having a good time at Sharp Reservation is trouble-free. For you golfers we recommend nearby Fishkill Golf Course & Driving Range, and paddling on Wappinger Creek is so much fun. Beacon Reservoir is a glorious lake close to Sharp Reservation, and Sylvan Lake Beach Park is a delightful campground                  here. This lake is so wonderful. Sharp Reservation is a great place to camp, Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a great place; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Trout Creek. Drift down the rapids of Popolopen Creek in a kayak; do take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. The high level of rainfall makes Sharp Reservation a pretty wet place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
