In New York there are many beautiful lakes, Second Pond is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Thirteenth Brook; why not take a little tour to Halfway Brook while you're here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Dry warm beds await you at Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel, and if you came to camp Camp Dippikill Office is a glorious location to do that. Not far from Second Pond, you'll stumble on Botheration Pond which is a stunning lake, and on a wonderful day you obtain a great sight of Balm of Gilead Mountain from Second Pond. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. is a wonderful local campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. For the duration of the summertime here at Second Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips
down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Second Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Mud Pond,
and soar down the rapids of Balm of Gilead Brook in a kayak. The annual precipitation here at Second Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain, and Bog Meadow is a good place here at Second Pond.

It is owned by Suny College Of Environmental Science and Forestry. There are no motors allowed on the lake. No fires and no overnight camping allowed. Dogs must be on a leash. There is great fishing, canoeing and kayaking. An absolutely beautiful lake in the woods. The lake has handicapped fishing access as well.... |
