you can camp at Whispering woods. Through the summertime here at Second Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Second Pond tend to be in the 0's.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 11 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
