If you are traveling by, why not stop by Second Pond. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. You could also take a look at Upper Ausable Lake while you're here at Second Pond; it's close by. There's so much to do here at Second Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a pleasant location for that. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Second Pond has to offer, you can camp at Whispering

| | Pines Campground, and if you need a site to stay Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a splendid choice. Near Second Pond you find the Van Hoevenberg Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail; the top of Moose Mountain is easily spotted from Second Pond. During the days of summer highs here at Second Pond get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Gore Mountain is magnificent, and get soaked paddling on John's Brook. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be. Whitewater paddling
is brilliant on Boreas River - Upper, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail. Having a splendid time in the Adirondack Mountains is painless. Everybody close by loves skiing at Whiteface
Mountain, and the Dividing Ridge Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. LeClaire Brook is a glorious local stream, and dry warm beds await you at Courtyard Lake Placid. The amount of rain that falls at
Second Pond is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Second Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains.
