Second Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Second Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains. LeClaire Brook is a stream that you may come across while you're here; camping at Whispering Pines Campground is always a great experience. An average amount of precipitation falls at Second Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. Everybody close by loves skiing at Whiteface

| | Mountain. Throughout the summertime highs here at Second Pond reach the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Second Pond are in the 0's. What a location this is for outdoors folks. If the weather is fine here at Second Pond, you can go for a hike along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail, and you can run the rapids of John's Brook. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Camping is available at Shearer's Riverside Campsite, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Dividing Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Boreas River - Upper; after a
long day outdoors Courtyard Lake Placid is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Boreas Ponds is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and the Van Hoevenberg Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by. So many entertaining
things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too tremendous to be true. The sight of lovely Moose Mountain near Second Pond is perfect, and the skiing at Gore Mountain is great. All year is a magnificent time in the Adirondack Mountains
if you adore the outdoors. If you get bored of Second Pond, you could also stop at close by First Pond; dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Lake Placid.
