While you're here at Second Lake, you could also explore lovely Fourth Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Hudson River. Man, is there loads of fun things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Do stop at Third Lake right next door to Second Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and a wonderful sight of charming Bullhead Pond Mountain       is available. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. You clearly must fancy the Adirondack Mountains. You're sure to run into some wonderful folks from Glens Falls here, and Second Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Down Hill Campground is a delightful local campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in close proximity to Second Lake. If you're here at Second Lake and you like golf, you can                  stop at Bend of the River Golf Club; a fine nearby hotel is Lake View Hotel and Conference Center. Second Lake gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; most of the rain falls during August, and February on the other hand is the driest. A day on the slopes of Gore Mountain is just what you need, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Sacandaga River. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to West Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and Lake George Hotel is a delightful location to get some rest. If you came to camp Mt Kenyon Camp Ground is a pleasant place to do that, and as expected Sacandaga River flows through this area. Summertime highs at Second Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, regularly in the 50's.
