Summer brings highs in the 80's to Scuttle Hole, and the night is a tad colder of course, regularly in the 50's. If you come at the right time of year, Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch offers some pleasant whitewater, and not far from Scuttle Hole you'll hit upon Round Lake which is a lovely lake. Swamps like Cedar Swamp are fun to visit. Lakes? Sure, South Greek Lake is in close proximity. A good place to camp here at Scuttle Hole is Natural Bridge/Watertown KOA, and there are plenty of people from Ogdensburg-Massena here at Scuttle Hole. From a                  precipitation point of view Scuttle Hole is a rather normal location; most of the rain falls all through August; the driest month of the year is February.
