While you're here at Schoolhouse Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Bennington, and after a long day outdoors Blue Willow Motel is a glorious site to spend a night or two. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Clark Pond; Town House Motor Inn is a tremendous place to get some rest. But wait, there's more to do near Schoolhouse       Lake. Schoolhouse Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Lauderdale Campgrounds is a wonderful local campground; Battenkill River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by. There are pleasant places to discover along the West Ridge Trail; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Batten Kill River. You can never get enough of the great skiing at West Mountain, and close by                  you find the Healing Springs Nature Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Camping at Battenkill Sportsquarters Camping is always a splendid experience, and from Schoolhouse Lake you obtain a fine panorama of Mount Colfax. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Bald Mountain Trail is always a good adventure, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Willard Mountain since you're here. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Schoolhouse Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's.
