Why not camp at Natural Bridge K O A Camp Ground since you're here at Sand Pond; there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Norridge Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Beaver River offers some magnificent whitewater, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Post Henderson Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Snow Ridge.       Summer brings highs in the 80's to Sand Pond. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Sand Pond. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Sand Pond is peerless! The Salmon Lake Trail is a brilliant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Sand Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Singing waters Campground is a good spot to camp. McCauley Mountain                  is a magnificent local ski area, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch. Some close by water includes Hogs Back Creek, and not far from Sand Pond you'll come across Crooked Lake which is a beautiful lake. A normal amount of rain falls here at Sand Pond; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
