There's so much to do here at Sand Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Brook Campsites is a nice place for that. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sand Pond has to offer, you can camp at Moose River Camp Grounds. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant site for whitewater paddling near Sand Pond is Independence River, and you'll never forgive yourself if you       don’t go skiing at Snow Ridge since you're here. At Sand Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Sand Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. Skiing at Woods Valley is one of those things you just should do, and a golf course close by is Brantingham Golf Club. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater                  of Otter Creek; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Parsons Pond. Why not stop by close by Beaver Meadow Creek since you're here at Sand Pond, and not far from Sand Pond you'll find Hinchings Pond which is a scenic lake.
