From a rainfall point of view Sand Pond is a reasonably common place; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. You truly should adore the Adirondack Mountains. The top of Bailey Hill is easily spotted from Sand Pond, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Paradise Pines is a magnificent local campground. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake       Placid is a great spot to spend a night or two; Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a splendid campground nearby. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Hiking along the Dividing Ridge Trail is delightful fun, and whitewater paddling is splendid on The Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Jones Beach is near Sand Pond if you're in a beach type of mood. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Shorey                  Short Cut will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; the snow is delightful at Whiteface Mountain. Summertime highs at Sand Pond generally tend to be in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's with temperatures at Sand Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Sand Pond is right by the Elk Lake Marcy Trail, and Boreas River - Upper has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. Sand Pond is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains.
