Sand Pond frequently gets a great deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through August; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay The Lodge at Woodloch is a great choice; unsurprisingly, this is a good region for folks who like lakes, Pierce Pond is a lake in the neighborhood. You just can't picture the amount of       outdoors cool stuff the area near Sand Pond has to offer. A good location to camp here at Sand Pond is Camp Lohikan; Callicoon Creek - North Branch has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. At Sand Pond all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Sand Pond temperatures descend to the 10's. The                  snow is nice at Mount Tone, and whitewater paddling is good on Callicoon Creek - East Branch.
