Sand Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Drift down the rapids of East Stony Creek in a kayak, and you can go for a hike on the Oregon Trail. This place, the Adirondack Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. This is a popular place for folks from Gloversville. For the period of the warm months here at       Sand Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sand Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. Sand Lake is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Just can't get enough of Sand Lake. Looking for something next to Sand Lake? Bullhead Pond is around here, and the skiing at Gore Mountain is fine. If you go for the outdoors                  you'll go for it here in the Adirondack Mountains. Camping at Sand Lake is delightful fun, Sacandaga Campground is a delightful local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Algonquin Motel. If you come at the right time of year, Stony Creek offers some good whitewater, and the view of delightful Ohmer Mountain is perfect. This lake is so wonderful.
