If you need a place to stay Country Club Motel is a tremendous choice; paddling on Black River - South Branch is so much fun. The snow is good at McCauley Mountain, and why not camp at Kayuta Lake Campground while you're here at Sand Lake. Sand Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Black River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby       called the Twin Lakes Trail. Sand Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Going for a hike on the Forty Mountain Trail is always a fine adventure, and camping is available at Singing waters Campground. At Sand Lake through the summertime months highs are in the                  70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Sand Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Sand Lake. A day on the slopes of Woods Valley is just what you need; naturally Grindstone Creek is a lovely stream that is worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. Brooktrout Point is close to Sand Lake and is a splendid site to stop at, and Sand Lake is not the only site close by, Fourth Lake is a close by lake. That right there is heaps of cool things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all.
