    In New York there are many beautiful lakes, Rye Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. American Can Company Dam is a striking spot close to Rye Lake, and Rye Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Camp Echo Lake is a pleasant place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Cooney Hill can be made out from Rye Lake, and Soundview Sports is a nice local campground. Summertime at Rye Lake comes with high temperatures in the  
   80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Rye Lake.
Rye Lake usually gets a good deal of rain; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is January. Dry warm beds await you at Wellesley Inn Armonk, and an afternoon playing golf at Golf Club of Purchase is always a delight. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time.
 
               Lots of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown come to Rye Lake, and Rye Lake is not the only place close by, North Lake is a close by lake.
If you need a spot to stay HYATT SUMMERFIELD WHITE PLAINS is a delightful choice; wonderful hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Gutter Inlet is close to Rye Lake and is a delightful location to explore, and you can spend the day on the beach at Hawthorne Beach.
Bear Gutter Creek flows through this region, and a lake close by is Forest Lake.

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. ...tnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt r...
