High temperatures at Ryder Pond through the long summer days are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Ryder Pond nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.       Ryder Pond is not the only place close by, Shaw Pond is a close by lake, and whitewater paddling is great on Roeliff Jansen Kill River. Ryder Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Le Chambord. There's so much to do here at Ryder Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Taconic State Park Rudd Pond is a brilliant location for                  that. Near Ryder Pond you discover the Northrop Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail; Ryder Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Ramapo Anchorage Camp is a splendid local campground. A day on the slopes of Thunder Ridge is just what you need. Head up to Catamount and strap some skis to your feet, and going for a hike on the Indian Trail is always a brilliant adventure. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Swamps don’t sound that splendid but Tamarack Swamp close to Ryder Pond is reasonably splendid, and if you've had enough of Ryder Pond, Hunns Lake is nearby.
