There are fine places to explore along the Oregon Trail, and naturally, this is a glorious region for folks who like lakes, Mud Pond is a lake in the vicinity. Through the long summer days highs here at Round Pond reach the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 20's, and after the sun       is down through the wintertime temperatures at Round Pond sink into the 0's. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Getting to Black Mountain Brook from Round Pond is easy; there are some splendid whitewater spots on Balm of Gilead Brook. Just can't get enough of the Adirondack Mountains. Round Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Dippikill Office is a splendid local campground, and Gore Mountain is a very                  popular ski area close by. Man, is there a load of amusing things to do next to Round Pond. Camping at Smoke Rise Campsites is always a good experience; do set aside some time for Bog Meadow since you're here at Round Pond. You're in all probability interested in lakes, Chatiemac Lake is one of those nearby, and if you need a place to stay Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel is a great choice. Round Pond is a good site of typical rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful.
