There is a pleasant hiking trail near Round Pond called the Taconic Skyline Trail, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Pittsfield for sure. High temperatures at Round Pond throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down throughout       the winter temperatures at Round Pond sink into the 10's. This place is peerless, just check out all the cool things to do right next door to Round Pond. Near Round Pond you locate the Brickhouse Mountain Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and the slopes of Mount Greylock Ski Club are so inviting nobody can resist. Camping is available at Alps Family Campground, and there's a nice forest called Capital District Forest And Game Refuge. This lake is so wonderful.                  Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Poesten Kill River, and why not camp at Broken Wheel Campground if you're here at Round Pond. Jiminy Peak is a tremendous local ski area; after a long day outdoors Jiminy Peak is a great place to spend a night or two. If you need a spot to stay Jericho Valley Inn is a great choice, and the Southeast Hollow Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby.
