Skiing at McCauley Mountain is one of those things you just must do, and Bear Swamp is an out of the ordinary swamp near Round Pond. The summit of Bald Mountain can be spotted from Round Pond, and let's not forget Desert Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. This lake is so wonderful.       Going for a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch is a good whitewater spot close by. There is a good hiking trail close to Round Pond called the Post Henderson Trail, and do visit Long Pond, it's a beautiful lake. Summertime at Round Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; all through the dark hours                  in the winter at Round Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. What a place this is for outdoors folks. While you're here at Round Pond, you could also stop by gorgeous Rock Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Singing waters Campground is a good spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
