All year is a great time in the Adirondack Mountains if you like the outdoors. A wonderful nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Utica, and a day on the slopes of McCauley Mountain is just what you need. Don't leave Round Lake without first going for a hike along the Stone Dam Trail, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Utica-Rome for sure. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Head up to Woods Valley and strap some skis to your feet, and a delightful place to camp here at Round Lake is Kayuta Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Forty Mountain Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Round Lake, so little time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Woodhull Creek; since you're here, you could also check out charming Deer Pond. The yearly precipitation | |

here at Round Lake is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Moose River, and Mudhole Pond is a nearby lake that
you could explore. So many amusing things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too delightful to be true. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Round Lake; Twin Lakes Trail is a great local trail; camping at Cold Brook Campsites
is always a wonderful experience. All through the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Round Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Round Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.

Forty Mountain Trail
 | 11 miles away Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS.
